The Founders Circle
The Founders Circle was established to honor a group of visionary communitarians who, in the 1950s, spearheaded the effort to build a hospital in Carroll County. These pioneering philanthropists included:
  • Scott & Anita Bair
  • Dr. Charles & Ruth Billingslea
  • Charles O. Fisher, Sr.
  • F. Kale & Betty Mathias
  • David & Betty Scott
  • Atlee & Janet Wampler
  • Gladys Wimert

How do I become a member?
The Founders Circle recognizes individuals who give annual gifts of $1,000 or more—and businesses that contribute $2,500 or more—to the Carroll Hospital Foundation or to Carroll Hospice. Of the more than $4.9 million in charitable support given to Carroll Hospital in Fiscal Year 2016, more than 86% was contributed by Founders Circle members. This group of donors is vital to preserve the excellence of the care we provide.

Membership Benefits:
  • Discounts at Anchor Pharmacy and the Carroll Hospital Auxiliary's gift shops
  • Special care package if you are admitted to the hospital, including a gourmet meal and daily newspaper delivery
  • Your name or your organization's name listed in our publications
  • Periodic invitations to exclusive Founders Circle events

To join the Founders Circle, please contact the Carroll Hospital Foundation at 410-871-6200 or e-mail foundation@CarrollHospitalCenter.org.

In my wife’s last five days on this earth, Sharon was in a coma. Unfortunately, the Dove House was not completed at that time. I was capable of administering her morphine, but was not able to give Sharon the dignity care that hospice personnel can provide. Sharon died on August 20, 2006. Death with dignity is an important part of life, and I know support is needed to help hospice with the tools and staffing necessary to provide this. This naming gift was my way of honoring Sharon and supporting a much needed program.  ~Ken Hornberger
