General surgeon John A. Steers, M.D., was named Carroll Hospital Center’s October Physician of the Month.

Westminster, Md. – (October 7, 2013) — General surgeon John A. Steers, M.D., was named Carroll Hospital Center’s October Physician of the Month. A physician affiliated with Carroll Hospital Center for 19 years, Dr. Steers was recognized for his outstanding care and concern for a patient and her spouse.
“Dr. Steers is an extraordinary physician who genuinely cares for his patients and is always willing to go above and beyond his normal duties to ensure any person in need receives the medical attention required,” Mark Olszyk, M.D., vice president of medical affairs and chief medical officer, said.
Each month, Carroll Hospital Center recognizes the extraordinary patient care achievements of physicians, as well as physician assistants, nurse practitioners and certified nurse anesthetists, with a program called Physician WOW Service Awards. From those who are nominated to receive Physician WOW Service Awards each month, one Physician of the Month is chosen. And, from a year’s worth of Physician of the Month winners, one Physician of the Year is selected.
Community members and hospital associates are encouraged to nominate a medical professional who has demonstrated a special dedication and devotion to patients in a variety of ways.
