FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Westminster, Md. – (September 24, 2013) — Carroll Hospital Center recently recognized David Ernest Sr. as the September Volunteer of the Month. A volunteer at Carroll Hospital Center since 2012, Ernest Sr. was chosen for his hard work and commitment while working in the Carroll Hospital Center Auxiliary’s Candy Striper Gift Shops.
Ernest began volunteering at the hospital to fulfill the intention of his late wife, Nancy, to volunteer at the hospital. His career in inventory management has made him an extremely valuable volunteer in the Auxiliary’s gift shops where he is responsible for overseeing the shops’ inventory tracking system. His abilities to work with others and give attention to details, combined with his willingness to accomplish the job have been a true blessing for the other volunteers.
“David really takes every task to heart and works until the job is done; even if that means staying late or coming in on a weekend. We cherish him,” said Lois Warden, a volunteer buyer for the Auxiliary’s Candy Striper Gift Shops.
Each month, Carroll Hospital Center recognizes the extraordinary achievements of its volunteers. They are chosen based on length of service and hours of service or exemplary performance. Community members are encouraged to volunteer their time and skills to assist in Carroll Hospital Center’s important functions. For more information on how to volunteer, contact Volunteer Services at 410 871-7280.
