FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Westminster, Md. (August 6, 2013) — Members of the Sandy Mount United Methodist Church donated close to $500 to Dove House, Carroll Hospice’s inpatient hospice facility, on July 16.
The funds were a portion of the proceeds the church raised during its 13th Annual Charity Golf Tournament in memory of Laurence B. Raber, at the Oakmont Green Golf Course on May 17.
Each year the church organizes the tournament with some of its proceeds benefiting a community organization as part of the church’s outreach program. Marie Wilson, chair of the 13th Annual Golf Tournament, said she hopes the donation will help Dove House further enhance the valuable services it provides.
“We’re hoping it will make a difference with everything the Dove House does,” said Wilson. “We like to share in our proceeds and we know [our donation] will be used for a good cause,” she adds.
Dove House provides care to patients that require symptom management at end of life in a beautiful homelike setting 24 hours a day. Patients receive high quality care from an expert medical team dedicated to helping them live as comfortable as possible.
