Carroll Hospital Center to host annual Earth Day Fair on April 22

Westminster, Md. – (April 4, 2013) — In celebration of Earth Day, Carroll Hospital Center is hosting its annual Earth Day Fair on Monday, April 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the hospital’s main lobby.
Vendors from various businesses and community organizations will be onsite to discuss ways people can make changes at work and in their home to help save the planet by being more environmentally-friendly. During the event, various items also will be collected for recycling or proper disposal. Items attendees can bring for collection include:
• eye glasses
• used greeting cards
• mercury thermometers (they can be exchanged for a new digital one)
• cell phones
• rechargeable batteries
• expired or unused prescriptions or over-the-counter medications for proper disposal (no syringes and liquids must be in a sealed plastic bag)
• and pens (Paper Mate®, Sharpie® or Expo® brands only).
In addition, on Tuesday, April 23 from 8 to 11 a.m. residents are invited to bring their confidential papers to the hospital’s loading dock where NEXTCUT shredding will be available to shred them onsite.
The event is free and participants may enter to win great green-themed door prizes.
