Pamela Xenakis, certified diabetes educator and registered dietitian, was raised in Lochearn, Md. and received her bachelor's degree in nutritional sciences at Cornell University in New York.
After completing her dietetic internship, her first position was seeing patients in an endocrinologist’s office.
A certified diabetes educator since 1997, she held a variety of positions before joining Carroll Hospital Center's Diabetes Center in 2008. Pam admits that the most favorite part of her job is "exceeding patient’s expectations."
Patients often come to see me thinking they’ve been sent to the principal’s office, but they always leave energized and excited about working with us to achieve their goals," she says.
Pam’s outside interests include cooking, crafting and traveling with her 9-year-old daughter. She has a dog, Katie, and bunny named Yum Yums.
