Leslie Simmons, R.N., FACHE
As a leader in the organization for nearly 14 years, Ms. Simmons has been instrumental in driving Carroll Hospital Center’s outstanding achievements in quality with a focus on accountability and transparency. Ms. Simmons’ strong clinical background–from her more than 24 years of experience in numerous aspects of the health care industry–has been an asset in creating a culture of patient-centered care and uncompromising commitment to high performance at the hospital through the development of clinical service lines and increased participation in statewide collaboratives and best-practice initiatives.
A resident of Westminster, Ms. Simmons earned her associate degree in nursing from Anne Arundel Community College and her Bachelor of Science in nursing and Master of Management Administration from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland.
Ms. Simmons is the past president of the Maryland Organization of Nurse Executives and is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives. She also served a five-year term as a commissioner on the governor’s Taskforce for the Nursing Commission. She is a board member of the YMCA of Central Maryland and a board member of Roland Park Place, a continuing care retirement community. Ms. Simmons was appointed by the governor to the Maryland Health Quality and Cost Council and was recognized as one of The Daily Record’s “2012 Top 100 Women in Maryland.” She is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
