Leslie Simmons, R.N., B.S.N., M.A., Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President
Ms. Simmons joined the Carroll Hospital Center team in October 2000 as Vice President of Patient Care Services and shortly thereafter became the Senior Vice President of Patient Care Services. She has 32 years of experience as a nurse, much of which was obtained in critical care and emergency medicine, and 23 years progressive management experience.
She earned her Associate degree in Nursing from Anne Arundel Community College and both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Management Administration from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland.
Ms. Simmons is the past President of the Maryland Organization of Nurse Executives and is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives. Ms. Simmons also served a five-year term as Commissioner on the Governor’s Taskforce for the Nursing Commission. She is a board member for the YMCA of Central Maryland and was appointed by the Governor to the Maryland Health Quality and Cost Council. Recently, Ms. Simmons was recognized as one of The Daily Record’s “2012 Top 100 Women in Maryland.”
