The Westminster Imaging Center Designated a Breast Center of Excellence
The Imaging Center on the Carroll Hospital Center campus in Westminster, has been designated a Breast Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR).This status recognizes breast imaging centers that have earned accreditation in all of the College’s voluntary, breast-imaging accreditation programs and modules, in addition to the mandatory Mammography Accreditation Program.
This center, which offers diagnostic imaging services in partnership with Advanced Radiology, is one of only five centers in Maryland to receive this prestigious designation. The breast imaging services atthis centerare fully accredited in mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, breast ultrasound and ultrasound-guided breast biopsy. Peer-review evaluations, conducted in each breast imaging modality by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field, have determined that these facilities have achieved high practice standards in image quality, personnel qualifications, facility equipment, quality control procedures, and quality assurance programs.
