Cardiac Disease Prevention & Education

To help you prevent heart disease or improve your heart health, Carroll Hospital Center offers screening and education programs that include cardiac screenings and tobacco cessation programs.

Cardiac Screenings
Doctors’ ability to diagnose heart disease at an early stage has made great strides in the past few years. Carroll Hospital Center encourages those at risk for heart disease to get screened and tested early, to prevent a heart attack or other complications of heart disease. We offer free cardiac assessments several times a year at our Outpatient Center. Screenings include ECG, body fat analysis, cholesterol, glucose tests and a personal report.

Tobacco Cessation
Tobacco use continues to be one of the significant risk factors for cardiac disease. A seven-week tobacco cessation program is offered on an ongoing basis at the hospital in conjunction with the Carroll County Health Department. A related support group provides added encouragement and motivation to quit smoking or using tobacco.
