To help you navigate through the uncertain terrain of diagnosis, treatment and recovery, our cancer care navigators are here for you every step of the way. Available to men and women with all types and stages of cancer, these specialists can provide cancer tools and resources based on your specific needs – free of charge.
Located on Carroll Hospital Center’s campus, Carroll Cancer Center offers outpatient radiation and medical oncology services for most cancers, including tumors of the lung, breast, prostate, colon, ovaries, bladder, leukemia and lymphomas. Operating as a joint venture between Carroll Hospital Center and U.S. Oncology, a national leader in cancer research and therapies, this Center offers patients and their families the latest in cancer treatments.
In addition to a complete medical staff of oncologists, nurses trained in oncology, case managers and other health care professionals, the Carroll Cancer Center houses an administrative team that helps you through every aspect of care.
Once you’re referred to an oncologist, the staff at the Center will develop a treatment plan specially designed for you. You’ll also have access to support groups, seminars on cancer issues and information about other community resources.
For patients who need hospital care, our oncology unit provides the latest treatments under the direction of a board-certified oncologist and nationally certified oncology nurse coordinator. Our compassionate care is enhanced by comfortable, private rooms equipped with a bathroom, television, plenty of natural light and a pullout sofa where family members can visit or sleep overnight.
At Carroll Hospital Center, the care of cancer patients is enhanced through a Cancer Conference that is held twice a month. All members of the oncology team—including surgeons, radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, radiologists and pathologists—meet to discuss patient cases and appropriate treatment options. The conferences are open to other health care providers, such as primary care physicians, specialists, nurses and social workers. The Commission on Cancer states that these conferences promote quality care by enhancing patient management, improving outcomes and providing valuable education to providers.
