Do you have questions about your diabetes management? Feel frustrated or confused? Need some motivation to take the steps toward better health? The Diabetes Center offers a variety of support services to help you and your loved ones control and cope with your disease.

Support Groups

Adult Diabetes Support Group
Adults with diabetes and their loved ones are welcome to attend these informative meetings, led by one of our certified diabetes educators. You’ll have the opportunity to meet other community members who face similar health challenges and share information and experiences related to your disease. Meetings focus on a different, timely topic each month and occasionally feature a guest speaker.

Juvenile Diabetes Support Group
Managing childhood diabetes can be challenging for children and parents alike. During these meetings, specifically designed to help diabetic adolescents and their families deal with the disease, school-aged children will receive formal instruction and enjoy a planned activity or craft, while parents have the opportunity to offer peer support, exchange information and share coping strategies and advice on raising a child with diabetes.

Insulin Initiation and Dosing Services
Diabetes patients who require insulin injections will benefit from this hands-on course, which teaches participants how to appropriately dose and inject insulin. Other useful topics, such as treating hypoglycemia and achieving optimum glucose control, also will be covered. Most patients take this course in conjunction with other self-management education programs to ensure the best possible management of their disease.

Diabetes Workshop
At this free, annual event, you’ll have the opportunity to see and test the latest products to help you improve your quality of life, control your blood sugar and live more comfortably with diabetes. Participants also will enjoy giveaways, door prizes, vendor displays and a healthy luncheon.
