Our 18-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU) has been specially designed to handle the needs of patients needing more specialized, cardiac and acute care than those patients on our regular medical and surgical units. Patient rooms are equipped with an advanced cardiac monitoring system which allows a certified monitor technician to observe the patient, around the clock, immediately communicating changes to the patient’s health care team.

Additionally, patient rooms include a total care bed, developed for patients who are susceptible to risks associated with immobilization. These high-tech beds include percussion and rotation modules that allow the patient to be gently turned periodically to promote circulation and improved aeration to the lungs.

Complete with 24-hour critical care in-house physician coverage and specialized nursing care as well as state-of-the-art monitoring, this unit offers the kind of care patients with serious health conditions need.
