FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Westminster, Md. – (July 14, 2010) — Grace Crehan was recently selected as Carroll Hospital Center’s July Volunteer of the Month. A volunteer at Carroll Hospital Center for six years, Crehan was chosen for her pleasant personality and outstanding assistance to patients’ family members at the hospital.
Crehan volunteers in the hospital’s surgical waiting room where she serves as the liaison between patients’ family members and the nurses and physicians in the operating and recovery rooms by communicating the progress or status of a patient during and after their procedure.
“Grace is an excellent volunteer. Her pleasant personality and ability to connect with people make her a calm and reassuring presence in the surgical waiting room for families waiting for news about their loved one,” Mary Richards, director of volunteer services at Carroll Hospital Center, said.
Each month, Carroll Hospital Center recognizes the extraordinary achievements of its volunteers. They are chosen based on length of service and hours of service or exemplary performance. Community members are encouraged to volunteer their time and skills to assist in Carroll Hospital Center’s important functions. For more information on how to volunteer, contact Volunteer Services at 410 871-7280.
