Our 24-bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMC), including all private rooms complete with overnight sofa for a family member and a private shower and bath, was specially designed with the needs of our more acute patients in mind. Patient rooms are equipped with the most advanced bed-side monitors providing improved visualization of each patient’s cardiac and general vitals. Additionally, patients are monitored by our monitor technicians on the telemetry unit (also known as PCU).

Complete with 24-hour critical care in-house physician coverage and specialized nursing care as well as state-of-the-art monitoring, this unit offers the kind of care patients with serious health conditions need. The unique pod configuration of the unit brings the nurse closer to her patients, back to the bedside. Each pod area consists of four private rooms with a central nurse area directly outside of the patient rooms.

A specially trained nursing team is skilled in providing care for patients needing cardiac monitors, invasive intravenous lines and monitoring systems, arterial lines and various types of intravenous medications. Our compassionate health care professionals also know the strain felt by family members when their loved ones need extra special medical care. Often times, patients needing more critical care experience many health status changes throughout the day. The nursing staff will engage the patient’s family in regular communication to keep them informed of the patient’s health condition as it changes.
