Support and services for positive change.The intensive outpatient addictions program at Carroll Hospital Center provides comprehensive treatment for substance abuse to adults and adolescents who do not require hospitalization. The program helps patients make positive life changes and function successfully while at home, work or school. Individualized treatment programs, held three hours a day, are designed to meet the specific needs of each patient through education, group therapy and structured activities that promote independence and recovery.
Maintaining sobriety and abstinence from alcohol and other drugs is an essential requirement for continued participation in the outpatient program.
Admission Criteria
To be eligible for the program, individuals must:

be going through a period of crisis

acknowledge that abstinence is the primary treatment goal

demonstrate a disturbance in normal daily activities due to substance abuse

have tried other methods of treatment that were unsuccessful
-
have increased incidence of symptoms
-
have a previous history of multiple admissions
