When every second counts, you can count on Carroll Hospital Center’s advanced emergency services. Each year, our emergency department (ED) medical professionals provide expert care to more than 50,000 patients. They use the most advanced lifesaving technology available in our comfortable, spacious facility.

In national patient satisfaction surveys, our ED consistently ranks high. That’s because we’ve made it our mission to provide skilled, compassionate care in the most efficient way possible — from triage to discharge. Andour new Hourly Rounding program, where our technologist and nursing staff check on you and communicate with you on an hourly basis, will help to ensure you’re always informed.
Our Emergency Medical Team
In the ED, you’ll be treated by a comprehensive group of emergency medicine specialists, including board certified emergency physicians, physician assistants, registered nurses, triage nurses, support staff and others. All of our nurses have Advanced Cardiac Life Support training (ACLS) and many also have Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) training.

For those with more minor emergencies, such as sprains, lacerations or simple fractures, Carroll Hospital Center offers Emergent Care (EMC) to provide streamlined services and reduced wait time while still ensuring a state-of-the-art facility, advanced technology and an outstanding medical team.
Whether you are treated in our main ED or in EMC, our ED representatives serve as a liaison to keep your family and friends posted on your progress, because we know that five minutes can seem like an hour when you’re waiting.
Remember, the ED is not a substitute for routine medical care and regular visits to your primary care provider.
