Gestational Diabetes Management (Diabetes During Pregnancy)
Gestational diabetes is a type of diabetes that some women develop during pregnancy. While most women with this condition deliver healthy babies, careful monitoring is important. Patients referred for gestational diabetes are seen for an initial two-hour session, with follow-up sessions scheduled as needed. You’ll learn how to best control your diabetes and stay healthy through a combination of nutrition, exercise and regular glucose monitoring. When appropriate, we also assist with insulin injections and self-administration techniques.
This group gives those with diabetes the opportunity to meet others facing similar challenges, as well as to share information and experiences related to the disease. Led by one of our certified diabetes educators, the group meets monthly and features occasional guest speakers. Connect to our Education and Events
