DWI Education

Promoting successful recovery through education.
Carroll Hospital Center’s DWI Education Program is designed to educate DWI offenders about the far-reaching impact of drinking and driving, how alcohol affects driving skills and ways to reduce the probability of future DWI behavior. The program helps participants make a successful recovery by exposing them to various treatment interventions. The treatment plan consists of six weekly, two-hour sessions addressing the unique issues associated with a Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) occurrence. Each session provides the necessary information to enhance the participants understanding of the impact of alcohol on a person operating a motor vehicle.

The DWI Education Program was developed by Carroll Hospital Center, licensed by the State of Maryland for alcohol education and supported by the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Carroll Hospital Center's DWI Education Program includes:

  • Educational teachings on alcohol and its affect on driving
  • A brief discussion on Maryland laws regarding DWI offense
  • A group session on the impact of an individual’s decision to drink and drive
Individuals may participate in this program through a self-referral or referral by a legal agency or personal counsel. Payment for this program may either be paid prior to each individual session or in complete before the onset of the program.
