Our multidisciplinary team of cardiovascular professionals takes your health to heart—literally. And we want to do what’s good for it. That’s why we offer a comprehensive cardiac rehabilitation program for patients who have suffered a heart attack or are affected by cardiovascular disease.
This 12-week program combines exercise, education and support to offer patients a customized approach to a heart-healthy lifestyle. Supervised exercise sessions are held three days a week for one hour and tailored to the needs and abilities of each participant. These sessions are combined with special educational opportunities on nutrition, smoking cessation, stress reduction, medication management and more. It’s all part of our ultimate goal: to help patients feel better, maintain good health through exercise and improve quality of life.
The cardiac rehabilitation team includes a board-certified physician and specially trained cardiac nurses and technicians. The staff works together to help patients reach their highest level of activity and a confident sense of well-being in a friendly, caring environment.
Our program is certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation, which means it meets the highest standards of care. Participation in the program is by physician referral only. A stress test usually is needed to determine the level of exercise that is appropriate. You do not have to be a patient at Carroll Hospital Center to participate. For more information about cardiac rehabilitation, please call 410-871-6741.
