Westminster, Md. – (December 23, 2008) — Catherine “Kitty” Luers was recently selected as Carroll Hospital Center’s December Volunteer of the Month. A volunteer at Carroll Hospital Center for six years, Luers was chosen for her efficiency and friendliness while working in the hospital’s Volunteer Room.
Leurs is responsible for taking requests for deliveries and errands within the hospital. She also often volunteers to help coordinate large mailings, special projects and pricing inventory for the hospital’s Candy Striper Gift Shop.
"Kitty is a very caring and compassionate person, who is always willing to help whenever she is needed, and she does so with a smile," says Mary Richards, director of volunteer services at Carroll Hospital Center.
Each month, Carroll Hospital Center recognizes the extraordinary achievements of its volunteers. They are chosen based on length of service, hours of service or exemplary performance. Community members are encouraged to volunteer their time and skills to assist in Carroll Hospital Center’s important functions. For more information on how to volunteer, contact Volunteer Services at 410 871-7280.
