Westminster, Md. – (December 22, 2008) — The Women’s Place at Carroll Hospital Center recently received a check in the amount of $150 from the Order of the Eastern Star Freedom Chapter 87, located in Eldersburg, Md.
The Chapter’s Worthy Matron, Dawn Meade, presented the check to Eileen Overfelt, R.N., B.S.N., manager of The Women’s Place, on December 16 after raising the funds through the sale of pink ribbon items such as bracelets, earrings and baseball hats during October, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The Chapter plans to continue selling pink ribbon merchandise to benefit The Women’s Place and during February plans to sell various items to recognize Heart Health Month, with all the proceeds going toward cardiac services at Carroll Hospital Center.
