Carroll Hospital Center Auxiliary Holds Annual Tree of Lights Celebration

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Westminster, Md. (December 15, 2008) — The Carroll Hospital Center Auxiliary recently held its 17th Annual Tree of Lights celebration on December 1 at Carroll Hospital Center. Close to 200 friends, family and supporters of the hospital gathered for the event to remember or honor a special person during the holiday season.
During the event attendees lit candles and walked in procession to the hospital’s ceremonial tree in the flag court at the front of the hospital. Vicky Campbell Green, president of the Auxiliary led the ceremony which included greetings from Charles Fisher, Jr., chairman of the hospital’s Board of Directors, inspirational words from Rev. Judy Strayer, manager of the hospital’s Spiritual Care Department, and performances by The Old Line Statesmen Barbershop Chorus and Jennifer Gambino, director of development at Carroll Hospice.
Donations are still being accepted to purchase lights for the Tree of Lights in memory of a loved one, to honor a special individual or commemorate an occasion. Donations per light are $5 for individuals, $10 for families, $25 for clubs and organizations and $100 for businesses. Angels also are available for $50.
The Tree of Lights will remain lit throughout the holidays. Tax deductible gifts to the Tree of Lights will be accepted through Wednesday, December 31. All proceeds support the recent renovations of Carroll Hospital Center’s operating rooms.
Anyone interested in purchasing a light or angel for the holiday tree is asked to complete a donation form available in the hospital’s main lobby, Dixon Building lobby and by the cafeteria on the hospital’s ground floor. Donations are to be made by check and payable to the Carroll Hospital Center Auxiliary, Tree of Lights at 200 Memorial Avenue, Westminster MD, 21157. Please specify the name of the individual or family you would like to honor or remember, and the address of the person to whom you would like an acknowledgment card sent.
Honorees will be listed in the Book of Honor displayed in the hospital’s main lobby until January. For more information, please call 410-871-7280.
