Big Band Merry Christmas concert raises $18,000 for Carroll Hospital Center

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Westminster, Md. – (December 12, 2008) — More than 500 people gathered for an evening of holiday music at the Carroll County Jazz Ensemble’s annual Big Band Merry Christmas concert, held at Westminster High School on December 6. The concert raised $18,000 for cardiovascular services at Carroll Hospital Center.
The Carroll County Jazz Ensemble featured performers Brad Collins, Herb Sell, Gil Rathel, Jeff Boone, Little Swinger Singers, and Glenn Patterson. Special guests included Elaine Conover, 8-year-old trumpet prodigy Geoffrey Gallante, and the Carroll Singers Ensemble.
Carroll Hospital Center, founded in 1961 as Carroll County General Hospital, is a nonprofit, acute care facility offering the latest in medical technology, experienced medical professionals in a variety of specialties and a continuum of programs and services to meet the needs of the community.
