Carroll Occupational Health Wins Small Business of the Year Award

Westminster, Md. – (December 9, 2008) — Carroll Occupational Health (COH), L.L.C., an occupational medicine center affiliated with Carroll Hospital Center, recently received the 2008 Small Business of the Year Award during the 2nd Annual Business Awards Dinner, held on November 20 at The Portico of St. John in Westminster. The center was one of three businesses with six to 50 employees to win the award for its outstanding performance in the Carroll County community.
Over the past 10 years, COH, which focuses on treating work-related injuries, has experienced consistent growth, increasing their average patients seen each day from 25 in 1998 to close to 70 today. The center offers physical exams to ensure employees are physically fit to perform their job duties and able to return to work, and also recently created a new rehabilitation department which offers physical therapy for work-related injuries
The Carroll County Business of the Year Award is presented annually by the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce and the Carroll County Department of Economic Development to businesses in the community that have demonstrated outstanding achievement, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit. As a winner of this year’s award, Carroll Occupational Health, L.L.C., will be nominated for the Maryland Chamber Small Business of the Year Award, to be announced in the spring.
Carroll Hospital Center, founded in 1961 as Carroll County General Hospital, is a nonprofit, acute care facility offering the latest in medical technology, experienced medical professionals in a variety of specialties and a continuum of programs and services to meet the needs of the community.
