Elizabeth “Betty” Mathias named Carroll Hospital Center November Volunteer of the Month

Westminster, Md. – (December 9, 2008) — Elizabeth “Betty” Mathias was recently selected as Carroll Hospital Center’s November Volunteer of the Month. As a volunteer at Carroll Hospital Center for 13 years, Betty was chosen for her hard work and unwavering commitment to the hospital over the years.
Betty is a member of the Carroll Hospital Center Auxiliary where she helps to raise funds for the hospital’s programs and services, and she also volunteers in the hospital’s Candy Striper Gift Shop, assisting customers as they shop for gifts and unique items in the store.
“Betty is a very warm and friendly person who genuinely cares about helping people and about the hospital’s success. Her dedication to the organization is inspiring,” Mary Richards, director of volunteer services at Carroll Hospital Center, said.
Each month, Carroll Hospital Center recognizes the extraordinary achievements of its volunteers. They are chosen based on length of service, hours of service or exemplary performance. Community members are encouraged to volunteer their time and skills to assist in Carroll Hospital Center’s important functions.
