FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Westminster, Md. – (November 2, 2009) — Close to $8,000 was raised for Carroll Hospital Center during two separate Charity Nights hosted by the hospital’s Auxiliary. The events were held as a prelude to the upcoming Silvery Moon Ball, one of the Auxiliary’s signature fundraising events for the hospital.

The first Charity Night was held at Bud’s at Silver Run in Westminster, on October 5 and was a huge success raising $4,800. About 125 people attended the event which included food, drinks and two silent auction items. A number of Carroll Hospital Center staff and physicians also served as guest bartenders for a tip contest held throughout the evening. Physician assistant Scott Morsberger won the competition and was presented with the Best Cardio Bartender Award for his excellent services.

On October 20, more than 400 people attended the Auxiliary’s Charity Night at the Greene Turtle Sports Bar and Grille in Westminster. The event generated over $3,000 and included a silent auction, a drawing for a Baltimore Ravens hat and shirt, autographed by Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh, and a second tip contest with participating guest bartenders. Dottie Cole, Carroll Hospital Center Auxiliary board member, was awarded the Best Cardio Bartender for winning the competition.

The Auxiliary would like to thank Bud’s at Silver Run and The Greene Turtle Sports Bar and Grille for their support of and participation in these events.
