Colleen Hordesky, R.N., named Carroll Hospital Center 2009 Associate of the Year

Westminster, Md. – (October 8, 2009) — Colleen Hordesky, R.N., was named Carroll Hospital Center’s 2009 Associate of the Year during the hospital’s annual Associate Recognition Dinner at Martin’s Westminster on September 30. A member of the Carroll Hospital Center staff since 2004, Hordesky received the hospital’s highest staff honors for her dedicated work, compassionate patient care and innovative thinking as a nurse in the emergency department.
“Colleen is a very professional and extremely knowledgeable Associate who is considered an invaluable resource by all,” Leslie Simmons, R.N., B.S.N., M.A., chief operating officer and senior vice president at Carroll Hospital Center, said.
“Colleen is an exceptional, caring nurse in our organization, and her knowledge, skills and efforts support quality care for our patients,” added Stephanie Reid, R.N., B.S.N., M.B.A., assistant vice president of nursing at Carroll Hospital Center. “She embodies our organization's SPIRIT values within our nursing team.”
Each month, Carroll Hospital Center recognizes the extraordinary achievements of members of the Carroll Hospital Center staff with a program called Associate WOW Service Awards. From those who are nominated to receive Associate WOW Service Awards each month, one Associate of the Month is chosen. And, from a year’s worth of Associate of the Month winners, one Associate of the Year is selected.
Community members and hospital staff members are encouraged to nominate a hospital staff member who has demonstrated a special dedication and devotion to his/her job in a variety of ways.
