Westminster, Md. – (October 8, 2009) — Alison Manger-Weikel, R.D., L.D.N., dietitian, was selected as Carroll Hospital Center’s October Associate of the Month. A member of Carroll Hospital Center’s staff for 17 years, Manger-Weikel was nominated by a co-worker for her outstanding efforts in arranging a special VIP dinner for a patient and her family to allow them to celebrate a family member’s wedding day from her hospital room.
“Alison is an outstanding staff member whose leadership and initiative allowed this patient to enjoy this special day and feel like she was part of the wedding even though she couldn’t be there,” Marcea Cotter, director of food, environmental and patient transportation services at Carroll Hospital Center, said.
Each month, Carroll Hospital Center recognizes the extraordinary achievements of members of the Carroll Hospital Center staff with a program called Associate WOW Service Awards. From those who are nominated to receive Associate WOW Service Awards each month, one Associate of the Month is chosen. And, from a year’s worth of Associate of the Month winners, one Associate of the Year is selected.
Community members and hospital staff members are encouraged to nominate a hospital staff member who has demonstrated a special dedication and devotion to his/her job in a variety of ways.
