Carroll Golf Classic nets $250,000 for Carroll Hospital Center

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Westminster, Md. – (September 30, 2009) — More than 200 golfers and 50 volunteers enjoyed a day on the range during the 19th Annual Carroll Golf Classic, held on September 18 at the Piney Branch Golf Club in Hampstead. The event was a huge success raising $250,000 in net proceeds for the expansion of the hospital’s oncology services.
The event featured lunch and tournament play, along with a dinner and an awards ceremony later in the evening. The team of Don Patch and Stan Dore of Pepco Energy Services was presented with this year’s Wampler Cup for finishing in first place in the low net division. The coveted award is named in honor of the late Atlee Wampler, Jr., one Carroll Hospital Center’s founding fathers. Prizes also were awarded to Steve Dillman and Randy Hart of CBIZ, for first place in the low gross division and the Ridge Engineering Team of Dave Smith, Charlie Palmer, John Merkle and Denny Myers received the scramble division first place prize for the second consecutive year.
