FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Westminster, Md. – (September 11, 2009) — Charles Rugemer, patient care technician, was recently chosen as Carroll Hospital Center’s September Associate of the Month. A staff member at Carroll Hospital Center for 30 years, Charles was nominated by co-workers for going over and above his normal duties to find a donated wheelchair for a patient being discharged from the hospital.
“Charles is a compassionate and caring associate who is consistently willing to go the extra mile to help patients. He is truly deserving of this award,” Leslie Simmons, R.N., B.S.N., M.A., chief operating officer and senior vice president, said.
Each month, Carroll Hospital Center recognizes the extraordinary patient care achievements of physicians, as well as physician assistants, nurse practitioners and certified nurse anesthetists, with a program called Physician WOW Service Awards. From those who are nominated to receive Physician WOW Service Awards each month, one Physician of the Month is chosen. And, from a year’s worth of Physician of the Month winners, one Physician of the Year is selected.
Community members and hospital associates are encouraged to nominate a medical professional who has demonstrated a special dedication and devotion to patients in a variety of ways. For more information on how to nominate a Carroll Hospital Center medical professional, contact the Medical Affairs Office at 410-871-6899.
