Access Carroll, Inc., awarded $30,000 grant from the Quality Health Foundation

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Westminster, Md. – (October 4, 2007) — Access Carroll, Inc. — a non-profit organization providing free health care to uninsured, low-income Carroll County residents who meet certain eligibility requirements — was awarded a $30,000 grant recently from the Quality Health Foundation. The grant funding will go toward funding a full-time medication coordinator/medical assistant position that will provide free and low-cost medications for patients.
The Quality Health Foundation (QHF) is the mission arm for Delmarva Foundation, a not-for-profit organization committed to improving the quality of health care. QHF has conducted and evaluated health care quality improvement initiatives for more than 30 years.
Access Carroll, Inc. — a joint venture between Carroll Hospital Center, Carroll County Health Department and the Partnership for a Healthier Carroll County, Inc. — was one of six health care organizations to receive grant money from QHF, for a total of $230,000 awarded in grants in 2007.
Founded in 2005, Access Carroll, Inc. is a joint venture between Carroll Hospital Center, the Carroll County Health Department and the Partnership for a Healthier Carroll County, Inc. Access Carroll, Inc. provides free health care to uninsured, low-income Carroll County residents who meet certain eligibility requirements.
Carroll Hospital Center, founded in 1961 as Carroll County General Hospital, is a nonprofit, acute care facility offering a continuum of services, including comprehensive inpatient, outpatient and community programs.
