Westminster, Md. – (October 4, 2007) — The Carroll Hospital Center Auxiliary will host a Shopping in the Round sale on Friday, October 19 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the hospital main lobby. Proceeds from the shopping event will benefit the expansion of the Level II Special Care Nursery at Carroll Hospital Center.

The community is invited to shop for favorite holiday gifts, including handcrafted items, jewelry, pottery, purses and scarves. More than 20 vendors will be selling items throughout the day. Some of the vendors include Discovery Toys, Jill’s Jams and Jellies, Cookie Lee Jewelry, Longaberger Baskets, Tastefully Simple and many more. A bake table and cake auction will also be available.

Community members also are invited to preview a selection of ornaments and gift items for the upcoming holiday season at The Candy Striper Gift Shop, located in the hospital main lobby.

The Carroll Hospital Center Auxiliary has provided support to the hospital both financially and through volunteer services since 1959. It consists of more than 300 community members, of whom 184 are active volunteers. Proceeds from The Candy Striper Gift Shop, The White Rabbit Thrift Shop and annual fundraising events contribute to the Auxiliary’s pledged donation goal each year.

Carroll Hospital Center, founded in 1961 as Carroll County General Hospital, is a nonprofit, acute care facility offering a continuum of services, including comprehensive inpatient, outpatient and community programs.
