FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Westminster, Md. (November 1, 2006) — Students from North Carroll Middle School donated more than 250 Halloween bags to the Carroll Hospital Center Emergency Department recently. The students have asked goodie bags be distributed to children who may be unable to celebrate Halloween or to brighten their day during the holiday season when being cared for in the hospital’s Emergency Department.
Karla Amspacher, health teacher at North Carroll middle, presented Carroll Hospital Center associates with the decorated bags and coloring books on October 23.
Chelsea Grothe, a seventh grade student at North Carroll middle, led the donation project, promoting the idea to the entire school to help brighten the holiday season for children in the community. North Carroll Middle School students have previously donated items to Carroll Hospital Center during the Christmas and Easter holidays.
Carroll Hospital Center, founded in 1961 as Carroll County General Hospital, is a nonprofit, acute care facility offering a continuum of services, including comprehensive inpatient, outpatient and community programs.
