Westminster, Md. (October 23, 2006) — Carroll Hospice will host a Basket Bingo on Saturday, November 11, 2006 at the Sykesville Freedom Fire Hall. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and bingo will begin at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. All baskets are filled and proceeds will benefit Carroll Hospice.

Carroll Hospice, an affiliate of Carroll Hospital Center, is a non-profit organization that provides end-of-life care to the terminally ill. In 1986, Carroll Hospice cared for 53 patients. Today, they serve more than 50 patients each day, regardless of their ability to pay. Carroll Hospice is scheduled to open a new state-of-the-art inpatient facility in early 2007. The new facility will feature eight private patient rooms in a comfortable home-like setting for patients to receive end-of-life care.
