FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Westminster, Md. (December 27, 2006) — Robert Wack, M.D., director of hospital-based pediatrics, was recently selected as the hospital’s December Physician of the Month.
A physician affiliated with Carroll Hospital Center for nine years, Dr. Wack was nominated by a fellow physician for the honor, as a result of his ongoing compassion and commitment in patient care.
“Dr. Wack’s collaboration with staff, physicians and the community is a true example of exceptional leadership,” said Leslie Simmons, R.N., B.S.N., M.S., senior vice president of patient care services at Carroll Hospital Center. “His skills and service are invaluable to our hospital.”
Each month, Carroll Hospital Center recognizes the extraordinary patient care achievements of physicians, as well as physician assistants, nurse practitioners and certified nurse anesthetists, with a program called Physician WOW Service Awards. From those who are nominated to receive Physician WOW Service Awards each month, one Physician of the Month is chosen. And, from a year’s worth of Physician of the Month winners, one Physician of the Year is selected.
Community members and hospital associates are encouraged to nominate a medical professional who has demonstrated a special dedication and devotion to patients in a variety of ways. For more information on how to nominate a Carroll Hospital Center medical professional, contact the Medical Affairs Office at 410-871-6899.
Carroll Hospital Center, founded in 1961 as Carroll County General Hospital, is a nonprofit, acute care facility offering a continuum of services, including comprehensive inpatient, outpatient and community programs.
