FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Westminster, Md. (November 9, 2006) — The Partnership for a Healthier Carroll County, Inc. was presented with the state’s Outstanding Rural Health Program award recently during the 2006 Rural Maryland Impact Awards Luncheon in Cecil County.
The Partnership for a Healthier Carroll County, Inc. was one of seven outstanding rural leaders, dedicated to rural health care and rural economic development, honored from across the state. Award recipients demonstrate quality of service, dedication and creativity in providing services to the community that lead to improved access to care among rural providers.
In cooperation with the Carroll County Health Department, The Partnership for a Healthier Carroll County, Inc. has provided leadership, shown a commitment to growth and has a real concern for the health of all who live in Carroll County. The Partnership for a Healthier Carroll County, Inc., an affiliate of Carroll Hospital Center, is a private, nonprofit community led organization that seeks to build capacity for both health and quality of life improvement.
Since its inception in 1999, The Partnership has created a number of community outreach programs, including the Seniors Keep in Touch Program (SKIT), Carroll County Neighbors Helping Neighbors (CCNHN) and Access Carroll, Inc., a nonprofit organization offering free health care to uninsured, low-income residents of Carroll County.
