FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Westminster, Md. (November 14, 2006) — J. Mark Blue, M.D., orthopaedic surgeon and president of the Carroll Hospital Center Medical Staff was recently selected as the Carroll Hospital Center November Physician of the Month.
A physician affiliated with Carroll Hospital Center for eight years, Dr. Blue was selected by the hospital’s Associate Activities Team for the honor, as a result of the exceptional service he shows to both his patients and their families — no matter what the circumstance.
“Dr. Blue’s exceptional teamwork and service makes him an invaluable member of our hospital team,” said Leslie Simmons, R.N., B.S.N., M.S., senior vice president of patient care services. “He is a highly skilled orthopaedic surgeon who always goes the extra mile for patients and their families.”
Each month, Carroll Hospital Center recognizes the extraordinary patient care achievements of physicians, as well as physician assistants, nurse practitioners and certified nurse anesthetists, with a program called Physician WOW Service Awards. From those who receive Physician WOW Service Awards, one Physician of the Month is chosen. And, from a year’s worth of Physician of the Month winners, one Physician of the Year is selected.
Community members and hospital associates are encouraged to nominate a medical professional who has demonstrated a special dedication and devotion to patients in a variety of ways. For more information on how to nominate a Carroll Hospital Center medical professional, contact the Medical Affairs Office at 410-871-6899.
Carroll Hospital Center, founded in 1961 as Carroll County General Hospital, is a nonprofit, acute care facility offering a continuum of services, including comprehensive inpatient, outpatient and community programs.
