Carroll Hospital Center Auxiliary Illuminates 'Tree of Lights'

Westminster, Md. (December 8, 2005) – The Carroll Hospital Center Auxiliary held the 14th Annual Tree of Lights ceremonial lighting on November 28. More than 250 friends, family and supporters of the hospital gathered for the illuminating service to honor and remember their loved ones.
The evening began with attendees lighting candles provided by Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and processing to the tree in the flag court at the front of the hospital. Dottie Cole, president of the Auxiliary, led the ceremony. Lee Primm, chairman of the hospital’s Board of Directors, Rev. Judy Strayer, the hospital's board-certified chaplain and Arawana Leckron, chair of the Tree of Lights committee, provided inspirational words. Musical selections were performed by The Old Line Statesmen Barbershop Chorus and Arleen Bullock on a digital piano from Stu's Music.
Additional lights for the Tree of Lights may be purchased with a donation of $5 for individuals, $10 for families, $25 for clubs and organizations and $100 for businesses. Angel ornaments are $50 each and are a unique way to remember someone special. Donations to the Tree of Lights support Carroll Hospital Center programs and services.
The Tree of Lights will remain lit throughout the holidays. To purchasing a light in honor of or in memory of someone, forms are available in the hospital’s main lobby, cafeteria or the Dixon Building lobby. Or you may send your request and check made payable to the Carroll Hospital Center Auxiliary, 200 Memorial Ave., Westminster, MD 21157. Please specify whether your gift is "in honor of" or "in memory of" along with the address of the person who should receive an acknowledgement card. Tax deductible gifts to the Tree of Lights will be accepted through Friday, January 13. Honorees are listed the Book of Honor on display in the lobby until January.
