FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Westminster, Md. (October 28, 2005) — The Carroll Collector’s Club has donated $5,100 to The Breast Center at The Women’s Place at Carroll Hospital Center, following the club’s 6th Annual Bingo Dinner. This year’s event, which had a Hawaiian beach party theme, was held October 8 at the Gamber Volunteer Fire Company. On October 27, club members presented a check to Women’s Services Coordinator Eileen Overfelt, R.N., B.S.N. of Carroll Hospital Center. "The bingo dinner is held each year in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and, since it began in 2000, has raised more than $34,000 for The Breast Cancer," said club president Herb Marquess. "Next year’s event will be held the second Saturday in October and will have a Halloween masquerade ball theme." The Carroll Collector's Club is for people who enjoy collecting a variety of items, including ornaments, dolls, model cars and figurines. It was established in 1996. "The commitment of the Carroll Collector’s Club to make this annual donation is really appreciated," Overfelt said. "This support helps us to provide a comprehensive array of services for women with breast cancer through The Breast Center." Carroll Hospital Center, founded in 1961 as Carroll County General Hospital, is a nonprofit, acute care facility offering a continuum of services, including comprehensive inpatient, outpatient and community programs. ###
