Westminster, Md. – The MOMS Club of Taneytown donated more than 60 toys and books to Carroll Hospital Center’s Pediatric Unit on Thursday, September 23, 2004.
The MOMS Club of Taneytown—a local chapter of an international nonprofit organization with 1,500 chapters in seven countries—donated toys and books for children ages 2-6, as a way to help cheer up children in the community who are hospitalized.
“As a new chapter of MOMS Club International, we actively seek opportunities to engage in projects that support children,” said Kym Thorpe, president, MOMS Club of Taneytown. “It is important to take care of the children in our community.”
In an effort to bring the personal touch to their generous donation, members of the group and their children personally dropped off the donation of toys, video games and books to the hospital.
Founded in 1961 as Carroll County General Hospital, Carroll Hospital Center is a nonprofit, acute care facility offering a continuum of services, including comprehensive inpatient, outpatient and community programs.
