Carroll Hospital Center names director of surgical services

Westminster, Md. – Kate Painter, R.N., has been named director of surgical services at Carroll Hospital Center. She has worked at the hospital for six years and brings 32 years experience as a nurse, nurse manager and surgery director to her new position, in which she is responsible for all operating rooms, perioperative and postoperative areas, surgical scheduling and the pain management center.
Most recently, Painter served as director of outpatient services at Carroll Hospital Center, managing the hospital’s ambulatory surgery centers.
Painter, who is certified in peri-anesthesia nursing, earned a nursing degree from Sacred Heart of Pennsylvania in Allentown and a bachelor’s degree in health system management from University of Baltimore.
Founded in 1961 as Carroll County General Hospital, Carroll Hospital Center is a nonprofit, acute care facility offering a continuum of services, including comprehensive inpatient, outpatient and community programs.
