New safety and security manager named at Carroll County General Hospital

Joe Opauski has been named the new safety and security manager at Carroll County General Hospital. He will oversee all safety and security programs at the hospital, including emergency management, perform safety and security hazard surveillance, and conduct a variety of environmental safety and health training relevant to the environment of care for the hospital.
Opauski comes to Carroll County General from the Johns Hopkins University Health, Safety and Environment Department, where he served as occupational safety manager for more than a year. Overall, he has 11 years of experience in the field of environmental health and safety and security. He has more than six years experience in the health care industry involving the environment of care.
A resident of Sykesville, Opauski earned a bachelor’s degree in safety science from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He is certified as a health care environmental manager and health care safety professional.
Founded in 1961, Carroll County General Hospital is a nonprofit, acute care facility offering a continuum of services, including comprehensive inpatient, outpatient and community programs.
