 Westminster, Md. –
Carroll Home Care and Carroll Hospice have achieved three-year accreditation from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. The designation was awarded after an on-site survey this past summer showed that both Carroll Home Care and Carroll Hospice demonstrated compliance with the Joint Commission’s national standards for home care and hospice organizations.
“The accreditation is a noteworthy achievement, as it reflects our desire to provide exceptional care to the community,” said Marie Bossie, executive director of Carroll Home Care and Carroll Hospice. “We continually strive to improve the quality of our services and obtaining Joint Commission accreditation is another step toward excellence.”
An independent, non-profit organization, the Joint Commission is the predominant standards-setting and accrediting body in health care. Joint Commission standards represent a national consensus on quality patient care that reflects changing health care practices and delivery trends.
Since its inception in 1996, Carroll Home Care has provided comprehensive in-home health care services, including skilled nursing, therapy and social services, as well as specialized wound care and behavioral health services for patients following a hospital stay, injury, or to prevent a hospitalization.
Since 1986, Carroll Hospice has provided end of life care, pain and symptom management and support services to more than 3,200 patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families.
