Westminster, Md. – The Carroll County chapter of Mothers & More, an international support and advocacy group for women balancing motherhood and professional life, donated four car seats to the Emergency Department at Carroll County General Hospital.

“Many times when children come to the Emergency Department, it’s very difficult to get them safely home, either because the car seat was damaged in an accident or a friend or family member taking them home doesn’t have a car seat,” said Pam Phillips, R.N., Emergency Department at Carroll County General Hospital. “With this generous donation, we now have a loaner program to ensure that children get home safe when they leave the hospital.”

Through fundraising efforts like clothing drives, book fairs and donations, Mothers & More strives to meet the needs of mothers and children in the community. The Carroll County chapter also adopts a family during the holiday season.

“When we know of a need in the community, we offer whatever support we can to mothers and children,” said Diane Wolf , co-leader of the Carroll County chapter.

Mothers & More was established in 1987 as a not-for-profit organization supporting the personal and work interests of mothers who have changed their career paths in order to care for their children at home. Since its inception, Mothers & More has grown to more than 180 chapters and 8,000 members worldwide. The Carroll County chapter was formed in 1997 and includes more than 40 members.

Founded in 1961, Carroll County General Hospital is a nonprofit, acute care facility offering a continuum of services, including comprehensive inpatient, outpatient and community programs.
