Westminster, Md. – Members of the Westminster Senior Activities Center spread some cheer to children at Carroll County General Hospital by donating handmade crocheted dolls to the Pediatric Unit.

“To have the opportunity to help children gives them a lot of joy,” said Charlene Fischer, senior inclusion program coordinator for the Senior Center. “Once we provide our seniors with activities, we then look for outlets to the community, and the hospital is one those outlets.”

The Senior Center started the doll-making project in response to the many donations it received from the community.

The Westminster Senior Activities Center, which opened 30 years ago, provides educational and recreational activities for seniors in Carroll County.

Founded in 1961, Carroll County General Hospital is a nonprofit, acute care facility offering a continuum of services, including comprehensive inpatient, outpatient and community programs.
