 Westminster, Md. –
Evan Selsky, M.D., who is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiology, and interventional cardiology has joined the medical staff at Carroll County General Hospital. He comes to Carroll County General Hospital from Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Phoenix, Ariz., where he was director of the coronary care unit for eight years.
Selsky specializes in interventional cardiology, or non-surgical diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for patients with symptoms or signs of coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease and other heart ailments. The coronary arteries supply a constant flow of oxygen-rich blood to the heart. If plaque builds up in these arteries, blockages can develop, reducing blood flow to the heart and causing symptoms ranging from mild chest pain to a heart attack.
“There is incredible potential and promise at Carroll County General Hospital,” said Selsky, who also is a member of the staff at Mid-Atlantic Cardiovascular Associates, one the largest cardiology and research groups in the country. “The hospital has a very active cardiovascular lab, the equipment is outstanding and the staff is extremely well-trained. I’m looking forward to working with the department of cardiology and cardiovascular team on expanding the services of the lab.”
A resident of Finksburg, Selsky received his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center and Mercy Hospital. He is a member of the Arizona Medical Association and fellow of the American College of Cardiology. Selsky was voted one of Arizona’s top doctors for five consecutive years.
Founded in 1961, Carroll County General Hospital is a nonprofit, acute care facility offering a continuum of services, including comprehensive inpatient, outpatient and community programs.
