Carroll Hospital Center's team of anesthesia specialists includes board certified physicians and certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs) that provide around-the-clock anesthesia care. This team of specialists manages the anesthesia needs of surgical  and obstetrical patients.  Our anesthesia team administers both general and local anesthesia to patients, to prevent pain during surgical, dental, diagnostic and other therapeutic procedures. Patients lose consciousness when given a general anesthetic, but typically are conscious when given a local anesthetic, which only affects pain sensation in a specific area of the body.   In addition to managing anesthesia care during procedures, many of our specialists are trained to help you handle acute and chronic pain.  Carroll Hospital Center has an Advanced Pain Management Center, with a unique, specially trained group of medical professionals, available to help you get control of chronic, sometimes debilitating pain on an outpatient basis.
