At Carroll Hospital Center’s Advance Pain Management Center, we offer the right pain management treatment to meet your specific needs.
All patients referred to the Center receive a full, comprehensive evaluation of the pain disorder, which may include diagnostic testing such as discography/discogram. Following diagnosis, an individualized treatment plan is developed based on each patient’s needs and goals. Sometimes a combination of therapies is used to increase the patient’s ability to function and maintain a normal lifestyle. These treatments are performed to the highest standards using sophisticated X-ray guidance equipment that enables precise placement of injections and implantable devices.
Common treatment options at the Advanced Pain Management Center include:
- Nerve Block Injections. Local anesthetic and steroid injections near a specific nerve or group of nerves to interrupt pain transmission and reduce inflammation. These are also used for diagnosing the source of pain. For more information click here.
- Radiofrequency Ablation. Radiofrequency energy is used to heat tissue and deactivate pain-generating nerve fibers.
- Disc Decompression. Reduction of spinal disc pressure through a minimally invasive procedure.
- Spinal Cord Stimulation. A tiny pacemaker-like device is placed under the skin to generate electrical impulses that disrupt pain signals from reaching the brain.
- Spinal Infusion Pump. A small, computerized pump is implanted under the skin to continuously deliver pain medications to the spinal cord.
