Intensive treatment to get you back on your feet.
The Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) at Carroll Hospital Center offers a highly-skilled team of specialists and an environment conducive to the daily needs of adults with acute and chronic psychiatric or behavioral conditions. The PHP is part of the continuum of care offered by Behavioral Health Services and is located in space dedicated specifically to daily ambulatory programming.
The PHP functions as an alternative to inpatient treatment, providing comprehensive psychiatric services in a less restrictive environment that can also function as a step-down treatment for patients being discharged from an inpatient program. Six hours of clinically intensive, structured care are offered daily to meet specific individual needs. Length of stay varies, but is typically from eight to 10 days.
The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for adults offers another alternative to the more intensive levels of care found on the inpatient unit and in the PHP. The IOP provides transitional care to patients who can function more independently. These patients spend three hours daily in the same therapeutic services offered in the PHP as they work toward gaining the needed confidence to return to their community, career and home life.
