Behavioral Health Services at Carroll Hospital Center offers a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) that provides intensive, structured and supportive therapeutic day treatment for adolescents with acute and chronic psychiatric or behavioral conditions. The program’s staff is made up of highly-skilled specialists, including licensed clinical social workers, nurses, occupational therapists, teachers, and a child and adolescent psychiatrist. Patients range in age from 12 to 18 years and spend six hours a day in the PHP. Length of stay varies based on individual patient need, but averages between five to seven days.
An Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is available to adolescents with a higher capacity for independent functioning. Patients are offered the same therapeutic services available through the PHP, but attend their own school then come to Carroll Hospital Center. The IOP can be utilized as a step-down opportunity from PHP.
